About this contract

Roof Hawk is a growing drone surveying business carrying out roof and building inspections across London.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys flying drones and would like to develop that interest into professional work with us.

Ideally, you’ll already have good practical drone flying experience and be confident operating independently. Commercial drone experience would be a real advantage, and we’d particularly like to hear from pilots who could hit the ground running.

That said, if you don’t yet have years of commercial experience but are a capable flyer with good practical experience, good judgement and the right attitude, please do still get in touch. We can provide further training and drone equipment.

What matters is that you are confident controlling a drone, have a good eye for framing and capturing useful imagery, and take real pride in doing the job properly.

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Friendly, confident and professional with customers

* Reliable, organised and has excellent attention to detail

* Comfortable working independently and using good judgement when things don’t go exactly to plan

* Practical, hands-on and able to get on with the job

* Good at working with colleagues and communicating clearly

* Keen to learn, take responsibility and grow with the business

The work involves travelling to properties around London, carrying out drone surveys and capturing clear, detailed video and still imagery. You’ll often be working independently and representing Roof Hawk directly with customers.

You don’t need a particular academic background or degree. We’re much more interested in your ability, judgement, attitude and professionalism.

This would initially be a freelance role, likely part-time in volume, so it could work well alongside other commitments. The amount of work is likely to build over time and, for the right person, there would be the opportunity to take on considerably more responsibility and potentially move towards a full-time or permanent role if that was of interest.

Drone equipment and training will be provided.

You’ll need to be able to travel easily to jobs around London. We’re open to candidates based anywhere in London, although Central London, North London around Islington, or South London around Clapham/Battersea would be particularly convenient. More important than the exact location is being well connected and able to travel reliably between jobs.

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you. Rather than writing a long cover letter, just send us your CV or a little background about yourself and briefly tell us:

* What interests you about drones, and what flying experience have you had so far?

* Where are you based, and what are you looking for from your work over the next few years?

If we think there could be a good fit, we’ll get back in touch with a few more questions
