Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Manchester & Surrounding Areas | Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | Aspire People

Aspire People are currently seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who has more than 6 months of UK-based experience working within a school and is looking for a rewarding role with the opportunity to make a positive impact on pupil progress.

The Role:

* Delivering planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
* Providing whole-class, 1:1, and small-group support
* Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
* Covering classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 where required
* Supporting interventions in Maths, English, phonics, and other curriculum areas
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations
* Working closely with class teachers, senior leaders, and SENCOs
* Supporting assessment, pupil progress, and feedback
* Helping to organise resources and maintain a positive learning environment
* Supporting wider school activities, trips, and events where required

The Ideal Candidate:

* Holds a relevant Level 4, HLTA, or equivalent qualification, or has strong relevant experience
* Has more than 6 months of UK-based experience working within a school
* Has previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar classroom support role
* Is confident leading lessons and managing a classroom
* Has strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Can work independently while also contributing positively to the wider school team
* Has a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
* Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil development
