Thames Water Capital Delivery Programme
We are seeking an experienced Site Agent with a strong engineering background to support the delivery of heavy civils projects across a Thames Water Capital Delivery programme in South East London.
The works will include pipelines, deep drainage, shafts, chambers, reinforced concrete structures and associated temporary works.
This is a long-term contract opportunity ideally suited to an experienced Site Agent who has progressed from a Site Engineering background and is now looking to take on greater project responsibility, with the opportunity to develop towards a APM role.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering works, coordinating site teams, engineers and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will gain increased exposure to programme management, commercial matters, client liaison, technical coordination and overall project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day delivery of heavy civils and water infrastructure works.
Coordinate subcontractors, Site Engineers and site teams.
Plan and manage works against the construction programme, identifying constraints and supporting recovery plans where required.
Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with RAMS, permits, ITPs and Thames Water requirements.
Oversee quality assurance, site records, as-builts, handover documentation and project close-out.
Coordinate temporary works requirements and liaise with the Temporary Works Coordinator.
Manage technical queries, design interfaces and construction issues with engineering and design teams.
Raise and manage Early Warnings and support wider NEC processes.
Monitor progress, resources and subcontractor performance against programme.
Work closely with the commercial team on costs, variations and changes to scope.
Support the Project Manager with reporting, forecasting and wider project delivery responsibilities.
Take increasing ownership of projects from mobilisation through construction and handover.
About You
Previous UK water sector experience is essential.
Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent delivering civil engineering projects.
Strong engineering background, ideally having progressed from Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer level.
Experience delivering heavy civils including pipelines, deep drainage, shafts, reinforced concrete structures or similar works.
Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, including Early Warnings and change management.
Comfortable liaising with clients, designers, commercial teams and subcontractors.
Degree, HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
CSCS and SMSTS.
Temporary Works Coordinator and/or lifting qualifications would be advantageous.
Keen to progress towards Project Management and take on greater responsibility for overall project delivery.
