Rate: £22.19 PAYE / £28.31 Umbrella (first 12 weeks) / £29.83 Umbrella (after 12 weeks)
Duration: 18 months+ / Long-term contract
Assessment Day: Ideally 14th September
Preferred Start Date: 28th September
Drug & Alcohol: Successful candidates will be required to complete a Drug & Alcohol (D&A) test as part of the pre-employment process.

Position Summary

Working at a newly refurbished depot in Northampton on large-scale overhaul projects, you will be working as part of a team of Fitters focused on refitting the interiors of train carriages to modernise the fleet.

Responsibilities

* Electrical installation of train systems, including lighting, CCTV, USB and LED lights
* Fitment of PIS (Passenger Information Systems)
* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams and modification instructions
* Testing and routing electrical wiring and components
* Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical faults
* Documenting all work completed, including test results, materials used and any deviations from planned work

Person Profile

* Experience as an Electrical Fitter, Exam Technician or Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias
* NVQ Level 3 within a relevant engineering/electrical discipline
* Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics
* Experience with electrical installation, testing and fault-finding
* Willingness to learn new skills and attend training courses to expand your skillset
* Rolling stock experience, particularly electrical fitment and fault-finding, would be highly desirable
* Must be willing to complete a Drug & Alcohol (D&A) test as part of the pre-employment process
