Planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
Providing practical, hands-on learning opportunities.
Supporting students to develop their confidence, independence and employability skills.
Building positive and professional relationships with students.
Managing behaviour calmly and consistently.
Encouraging students who may have previously struggled to engage with education.
Working closely with the wider teaching, pastoral and support team.
Supporting students to achieve positive academic and personal outcomes.

Is patient, resilient and consistent.
Can build positive relationships with young people with SEMH needs.
Is able to make practical lessons engaging and accessible.
Has a genuine passion for helping young people progress.Previous experience working within an SEMH school, PRU, AP or SEN setting would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong mainstream or vocational teaching experience will also be considered.

The School

This is a specialist secondary SEMH setting in Leyton, working with young people who need a more structured and personalised approach to education.
