Interim Building Surveyor

Location: Various UK Locations / Hybrid Working Available

Interim Building Surveyor Opportunity

We are currently working with a range of Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Public Sector organisations who are seeking experienced Interim Building Surveyors to support their property and asset management teams.

These opportunities offer the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of residential and corporate assets, delivering essential surveying functions and helping organisations maintain compliance, improve stock condition, and deliver planned investment programmes.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertaking property inspections and condition surveys

* Identifying and specifying repairs and maintenance works

* Producing schedules of work and technical specifications

* Managing planned and reactive maintenance projects

* Overseeing contractors and monitoring project delivery

* Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and statutory requirements

* Conducting defect diagnosis and preparing detailed reports

* Supporting capital works, refurbishment, and improvement programmes

* Providing technical advice to internal stakeholders and residents

Requirements

* Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline

* Experience working within Local Government, Housing Associations, NHS, Education, or wider Public Sector environments

* Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and property legislation

* Experience managing contractors and overseeing building projects

* Excellent report writing and communication skills

* Full UK Driving Licence preferred

Desirable

* MRICS, AssocRICS, CIOB or equivalent professional membership

* Experience with housing stock surveys, compliance programmes, or capital projects

* Knowledge of public sector procurement processes
