Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in a supportive secondary school?

We are currently working with a secondary school in Newham that is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs and wants to make a real difference to their education and development.

The Role

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN
Supporting students to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
Working closely with teachers and the school's SEN team
Supporting students with their social, emotional and academic development
Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Adapting support to meet individual students' needs
Assisting with classroom activities and learning resources
Maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable
Patient, calm and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to build positive relationships with students
Confident supporting students with a range of additional needs
Resilient, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
