Science Subjects Tutor

Inspire Curiosity and Confidence in Science

We're looking for a Science Subjects Tutor to support children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them develop their understanding of Science while rebuilding confidence and engagement with learning. Students may be studying at a variety of levels and often benefit from a tutor who can make complex concepts accessible and engaging.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with learners and see the direct impact of your support on their progress and confidence.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Strong knowledge of one or more Science subjects
Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Southampton and surrounding Hampshire areas
