This role involves working with children and adolescents presenting with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. As an RMN, you will play a pivotal role in clinical assessment, care planning, risk management, and therapeutic intervention, ensuring young people feel safe, supported, and understood.

The Role

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will:

* Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to the development and evaluation of individualised care plans.

* Provide therapeutic interventions and emotional support to children experiencing anxiety, distress, trauma-related symptoms, or behavioural challenges.

* Support young people with autism and ADHD in managing routines, transitions, emotional regulation, and sensory sensitivities.

* Lead on the implementation of positive behaviour support strategies and risk management plans.

* Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques in accordance with policy and best practice.

* Administer and monitor medication in line with NMC guidelines and organisational policy (where applicable).

* Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation and incident reports.

Requirements

* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.

* Minimum 6 months UK healthcare experience.

* Experience supporting young people with Autism, ADHD, and complex or challenging behaviours.

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

* In-date PMVA training (or willingness to complete training).

What We’re Looking For

* Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills.

* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

* Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries.

* Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional in high-pressure situations.

* Ability to provide a clinical reference.

What We Offer

* Competitive pay rates – £36.00 to £43.00 per hour (subject to experience and shift type).

* Flexible shift patterns to suit your availability.

* The opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
