Project Manager - High Voltage Infrastructure

Rate: £600-£750/day Umbrella PAYE
Location: London & South East / Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
Working Pattern: Site based
Length of contract: Until September 2027 initially, with potential for long-term extension

Want to join a major infrastructure contractor and lead the delivery of a new programme of large-scale EV supercharging projects across London and the South East?

Our client is looking for an experienced HV Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major programme of 5-10MVA EV supercharging hubs.
The projects will be delivered as turnkey solutions, incorporating the HV connection, substations, transformers and associated building and civil works. Initially, specialist HV works will be delivered through supply-chain partners, with the Project Manager responsible for managing and overseeing their delivery.

Job Role

As HV Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
You will manage specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners, ensuring HV works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, specification and client requirements.

The role will involve coordinating the delivery of HV connections, substations and transformers while working closely with internal teams, clients, UK Power Networks and other key stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Project Manager
Strong High Voltage infrastructure experience
Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) is essential, although the authorisation does not need to currently be in date
Experience delivering HV connections, substations and/or transformer projects
Experience managing specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners
Knowledge of the UK Power Networks (UKPN) distribution area is highly advantageous
Experience up to 132kv would be advantageous for future projects
All relevant competencies must be up to date
Strong understanding of health & safety requirements within HV environments
Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills
Full UK Driving Licence
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure contractor at the beginning of a new HV programme, with the potential for the initial project to develop into several years of ongoing work.
