Administrative Support Assistant – Fixed-Term Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an organised and dependable Administrative Support Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail to support a busy operational department. The successful candidate will help ensure our day-to-day processes run smoothly, with responsibilities covering stock control, equipment compliance, data management, purchase orders and general administration.

Working Hours

Full-time - Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

* Update and maintain accurate stock inventory records, working closely with the Storeperson to confirm current stock levels.

* Ensure all plant and equipment is correctly recorded and compliant, including carrying out checks on site.

* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team.

* Accurately enter and update information within the work control system.

* Maintain records, including job cards, trackers and project information.

* Create, process and monitor purchase orders.

* Liaise with suppliers to ensure goods are received within the required timescales.

* Manage multiple tasks effectively and ensure deadlines are met.

* Support the smooth and efficient running of departmental processes.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an industrial, operational or similar working environment.

* Strong data-entry and record-management skills.

* Experience using work control systems and processing purchase orders or invoices.

* Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Word.

* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

* Strong organisational and time-management skills.

* The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

* A willingness to carry out some duties within the site environment.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to complete BPSS security clearance. Applicants must be able to provide a full three-year employment history and disclose any gaps in employment
