Contechs are recruiting on behalf of their client, a leading automotive organisation at the forefront of vehicle engineering and innovation. They are looking for a Chassis Project Engineer - Steering Systems to join their expanding team on a contract basis. 

As a Chassis Project Engineer - Steering Systems, your main responsibilities will include:

Lead the delivery of steering system development activities across vehicle programmes.
Create and maintain technical specifications for steering system components and assemblies.
Develop and manage Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEAs) to support robust product development.
Coordinate and release Engineering Releases (ER) and Management Releases (MR) in line with programme requirements.
Manage project timing, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful programme execution.
Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver steering system solutions that meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
Support commercial discussions and provide engineering input to ensure cost-effective design and delivery decisions.

Qualifications / Skills Needed

Proven experience as a Chassis Steering Systems Project Engineer within the automotive industry.
Strong background in technical specification creation.
Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of engineering cost implications.
Experience managing project timing plans and delivering to programme milestones.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, or a related Engineering discipline is preferred.
