Day Rate: £500 / day (Outside IR35)
Location: Birmingham (Central Region)

Do you want to lead environmental delivery on one of the UK's most complex, high-profile infrastructure programmes?
Are you confident influencing construction teams and supply chain partners to achieve zero harm and outstanding environmental compliance?

We're supporting a major principal contractor delivering critical works across a large-scale infrastructure project in the West Midlands to recruit an Environmental Manager. The position is based in Birmingham, operating in a highly constrained urban environment featuring major structures, interfaces and tunnelling works.

The successful Environmental Manager will:

Provide day-to-day environmental advice to construction teams across a sub-lot, ensuring compliance with legal and project requirements
Engage and influence subcontractors to embed environmental standards through planning and delivery
Lead on raising awareness, identifying training needs and contributing to site-based environmental training
Support the production and review of environmental documentation, including topic-specific assessments (e.g. dust, noise and vibration)
Investigate incidents and non-conformances, driving corrective actions and sharing lessons learnedThe successful candidate will have:

Proven experience in large-scale linear infrastructure (e.g. rail or highways) within a contractor, consultancy or specialist environment
Strong knowledge across a broad range of environmental topics (including ecology, water, waste, carbon, noise and air quality)
Confidence challenging designs and methodologies, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
